The used Citroen C6 was the car which marked the return of the company to their relevant market position. Over a period of time, Citroen and Peugeot produced vehicles quite similar to each other and this executive car, the immediate successor of the M, was launched with a view to changing that situation. The process of designing the C6 took Citroen a little bit of time as the company could not find a winning concept. The used Citroen C6 can be seen as a stylish alternative to rival executive cars by BMW like the 5 series and the E-class by Mercedes Benz. Initially, the car was offered with a 2.7 litre diesel and 3.0 litre petrol units. Those, however, were not appreciated all that much by motorists and the top sellers turned out to be models with a 2.2 litre diesel unit. The used Citroen C6 is sporting, elegant and graceful, but not too flamboyant. Citroen engineers took every care to give the executive car the eye-catching look without sacrificing the technical performance, and they succeeded. The cars’ interior is spacious and very modern and it will probably take some time for a new owner to discover all of the handy gadgets that the car is equipped with. Among many others, one will find dual zone air conditioning and an on-board trip computer. And the Hydractive suspension system is state of the art and will practically iron out all the speed bumps and uneven surfaces on the road. Safety levels are set at very high and quite rightly so for an executive car. Passengers are protected by nine airbags and the ESP with traction and cruise control are all in place. The driver is additionally supported by power steering and has easy reach to all controls. The driving experience in the used Citroen C6 is very smooth and quite peaceful, with near-perfect handling, which should satisfy even the most demanding drivers. The only minus for the used Citroen C6 is probably the depreciation as it is indeed a technology showcase. After all, it is a great capable car, which does not relate to the word ‘impossible’.
